Who can take part

  • You have a clinical diagnosis of insulin-dependent type 1 diabetes
  • You are a man or a premenopausal woman
  • Your average blood sugar is controlled enough (HbA1c is 12% or less)
  • You do not have liver, heart, or kidney disease
  • You do not have diabetes nerve problems (neuropathy)
  • Your blood pressure is controlled (not above 140/90 even with treatment)
