Who can take part

  • You are age 65 or older, or age 50+ with specific heart test or MRI findings
  • Your blood test and/or heart size measurements show one of these: NT-proBNP over 400, or enlarged left atrium
  • Your brain MRI shows specific types of “silent” ischemic lesions (certain patterns and locations) but not multiple sclerosis
  • You have no history of atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter
  • You cannot have a pacemaker, ICD, or implantable heart monitor, and you are not expected to need one
  • You can likely take part for the study (able to consent, follow visits/tests, and not have major memory/language barriers)
