TIF surgery after successful Barrett’s ablation

Who can take part

  • You’re between 18 and 75 years old
  • You previously had Barrett’s esophagus confirmed by biopsy (with or without dysplasia)
  • Your Barrett’s was fully cleared after ablation (radiofrequency or cryotherapy) on two checkups at least 3 months apart, and the most recent check was within 6 months
  • You have abnormal acid reflux on a test called Bravo pH monitoring (acid exposure time over 6% over 48–96 hours)
  • You have a small hiatal hernia (2 cm or less) or your valve function is not too severe (Hill grade under 2)
  • You take a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) medication but prefer an intervention instead of staying on lifelong pills
