EndoRotor vs radiofrequency treatment for Barrett’s esophagus

This study compares two endoscopic treatments to remove abnormal cells in Barrett’s esophagus and lower the chance of it worsening. If you qualify, you may be assigned to one of the two procedures and followed to see how well they work and how safe they are.

Who can take part

  • You’re an adult with Barrett’s esophagus that measures about 2 to 6 cm for the “tongue” part (and overall within the study’s size range).
  • Your biopsies show low-to-high grade dysplasia, or you previously had a superficial (non-invasive) esophageal cancer removed, and it has been checked by pathology.
  • You can give consent and sign the study consent form (French-speaking and able to read).
  • You can take proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) by mouth.
  • You do not have significant esophagus narrowing that prevents the doctor from passing a standard scope.
