Who can take part

  • You are a transgender girl or a cisgender boy
  • You are between 9 and 14 years old when you enroll
  • Your puberty is at an early stage (Tanner stage 2–3)
  • You plan to start puberty-blocking medicine within 2 months (transgender girls only)
  • You can safely do all study visits and procedures (no limits from major health, cognitive, or psychiatric issues)
  • You cannot have diabetes, high blood pressure, or be taking medicines that change insulin sensitivity
