Who can take part

  • You must be older than 18 years
  • A CT scan must show a new, spontaneous brain bleed above the brainstem (not in the brainstem) that is more than 20 mL
  • Surgery must start within 24 hours of the last known normal time (or within 24 hours of waking up when symptoms started)
  • Your baseline disability score (mRS) must be 2 or less before this event
  • A blood vessel scan (CT angiography) must not show a malformation that caused the bleed
  • You must be able to have required follow-up visits and assessments
