- You are 18 to 80 years old
- You have a brain bleed that is not caused by injury, is in the upper part of the brain, and is at least 20 mL in size
- You are not on blood thinners and your blood clotting tests are normal
- Surgery can be started within 2 hours of study enrollment
- You had a good level of function before the bleed (no major disability)
