Who can take part
- You have stage IV non-small cell lung cancer and have not had any past drug treatment for stage IV disease
- You are over 18, and your HIV is well controlled on a combination anti-HIV medication for at least 4 weeks
- Your HIV viral load is under 400 copies/mL, and you had no AIDS-related serious infections in the last 12 months
- You feel well enough for treatment (ECOG 0–2) and can meet basic lab needs (blood counts, liver, kidneys)
- Your cancer must have measurable disease, and you can start treatment within 21 days of your last cancer therapy
- Your tumor must not have certain gene changes (EGFR mutations) or ALK rearrangements
