Who can take part
- You are between 0 and 17 years old
- Your bones are still growing (not fully mature), as seen on an X-ray
- You have a grade 1 or 2 open fracture (skin is broken) that happened within the last 24 hours
- Your doctor plans to treat the fracture without surgery
- You are not allergic to cephalosporin antibiotics or have a severe penicillin allergy
- You do not have a weak immune system
- The fracture is not heavily contaminated with dirt or debris
