Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 70 years old.
  • Your breast cancer is HER2-positive invasive cancer (lab test shows HER2 IHC 3+ or IHC 2+ with a gene amplification test).
  • Your cancer is early stage: T2 to T4d, or T1c if lymph nodes under your arm are positive (not spread to distant organs).
  • Your doctor can measure at least one visible tumor spot on ultrasound, mammogram, or MRI in the last month.
  • Your heart is strong enough for chemotherapy (left ventricle ejection fraction 55% or higher on heart ultrasound).
  • You have adequate blood counts and organ function on recent blood tests, and your cancer has not been treated already with chemo, hormone therapy, targeted therapy, or radiation for this disease.
