Who can take part

  • Your breast tumor is larger than 2 cm, or has spread to nearby lymph nodes.
  • Your cancer is HER2-positive (a specific protein that promotes growth).
  • You have not had chemotherapy, anti-HER2 therapy, or radiation for invasive breast cancer before.
  • Your heart function is normal (left ventricular ejection fraction greater than 50%).
  • You have adequate bone marrow, liver, and kidney function as shown by blood tests.
  • You are able to have a breast MRI and provide blood samples for testing.
