Who can take part
- You have a traumatic kneecap instability diagnosis (primary or repeat) confirmed by a sports-trained clinician or physical therapist
- You are between 14 and 40 years old, and your growth plates are closed
- You are active and want to return to your pre-injury activity level (running/twisting at least 1–3 times per week)
- You have not had important knee surgery before (either knee) on the involved side, and your last kneecap slip was within the last 3 months
- You do not have knee problems like a cartilage (osteochondral) injury needing fixation or visible arthritis on X-ray
- You can attend all scheduled physical therapy sessions (4 in a row) with no planned trips that prevent attendance
