Who can take part
- You had ACL reconstruction surgery and finished the usual rehab plan
- Before your surgery, you trained for more than 50 hours per year in higher-level sports and planned to go back to that level
- You’ll be able to attend regular physical therapy and check-in visits (at least 80% of sessions, plus all assessments)
- You did not have another serious injury in the same leg at the time of the knee injury, and you haven’t had prior knee surgery
- After surgery, you were not kept on long walking/weight limits for more than 4 weeks due to other knee problems (like certain meniscus repairs or cartilage issues)
- You don’t have conditions that make BFRT unsafe, such as prior deep vein blood clots (DVT), serious heart/metabolic problems, or certain nerve problems
- You don’t expect additional knee surgery during recovery for issues like arthrofibrosis (stiffness after surgery)
