  • You must be an adult (18 years or older) having heart surgery
  • Your surgery must be planned (elective), not an emergency
  • You must be able to have the scan sensor placed on your head/forehead
  • Any skin problems on your head/forehead that prevent the scan are a reason you cannot join
  • You must be willing and able to sign written consent to take part
