Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for shoulder or other orthopedic surgery while sitting up (beach chair position).
  • You are an adult 18 years or older.
  • Your health status is classified as ASA I, II, or III (generally healthy to having mild or well-controlled disease).
  • You are willing to join the study and sign a consent form.
  • You have no history of stroke, severe head injury, brain surgery, major neck surgery, or severe carotid artery narrowing.
