Who can take part
- Be 18 years or older
- Have had a severe hemorrhagic or ischemic stroke, or lack of oxygen to the brain after cardiac arrest and CPR (or be in the conscious control group)
- If in the unconscious group: be unconscious (not responding to verbal stimuli) or be sedated to match the sickest severity, with specific movement responses to pain
- Informed consent must be signed by your legal representative (for unconscious patients)
- The monitoring must be possible within 7 days after ICU admission
- You (or the patient) should not be pregnant or breastfeeding if able to become pregnant
