Who can take part

  • Be age 18 to 74 and planning to receive a liver transplant
  • Your health status is fairly good (ECOG 0–1) and you can manage usual activities
  • Your liver disease stage is Child-Pugh A or B
  • Your liver cancer has been confirmed and it is beyond the usual “Milan/UCSF” transplant limits (but you do not have spread to distant organs)
  • You have not had cancer treatment before (including interferon) and you are not pregnant
  • Your blood counts and liver/kidney clotting tests are within required ranges (examples: platelets ≥75, hemoglobin ≥100, bilirubin/ALT/AST not too high)
  • You can understand and sign the consent form; you can safely tolerate the transplant and the study treatment
