Testing a stress-blocking drug for early Alzheimer's risk

This study tests a new medication, CORT108297, that may help protect the brain from the harmful effects of stress in people at risk for Alzheimer's disease. It is looking for adults age 55 and older who either have mild memory problems or are healthy but have a family history, APOE4 gene, or memory concerns.

Who can take part

  • You are 55 or older
  • You have mild memory problems due to Alzheimer's disease, or you are healthy but have a family history of dementia, carry the APOE4 gene, or have memory concerns
  • You have a caregiver or family member who can spend at least 10 hours a week with you and help with the study
  • You are not a smoker
  • You have not taken certain medications (like strong painkillers, stomach acid reducers, sedatives, steroids, or antipsychotics) in the last 6 months
