Who can take part
- You have epilepsy that has not improved enough with seizure medicines
- Your doctors are planning to place intracranial EEG electrodes (a more direct brain monitoring test)
- Your epilepsy is thought to come from the temporal lobe (the side part of the brain)
- You can safely have an MRI at 3 Tesla (3T), meaning no MRI-safety contraindications like certain metal implants and you can tolerate the scan
- You do not have a situation that would make electrode monitoring unsafe or not possible (for example, pregnancy), and you have not had prior intracranial brain surgery or an implanted brain device that prevents this study
- Your implanted-electrode results are expected to be able to show clear, diagnostic seizure onset areas
