Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 65 years old.
- You have been diagnosed with drug-resistant focal epilepsy, meaning seizures are not controlled with medication.
- You are suspected of having a condition called mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE), and you are being considered for surgery.
- You have had a normal MRI or one showing a specific finding called hippocampal sclerosis.
- You are able to have an MRI scan with a contrast dye injection (gadolinium).
- You do not have certain other brain conditions like a tumor, stroke, or dementia.
