Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • You have had an ischemic stroke (a clot blocking blood flow in the brain) confirmed by a CT scan
  • Treatment can start within 4.5 hours of when your symptoms began
  • Your stroke symptoms are moderate to moderately severe (NIHSS score between 6 and 24)
  • You are eligible for clot-busting medicine (intravenous thrombolysis) according to standard guidelines
  • You or your family agree to join the study and sign a consent form
