Who can take part
- You are age 18 or older
- Your stroke started less than 24 hours before the scan
- Your brain scan shows a blockage in the front part of the brain (intracranial ICA or MCA) on CTA or MRA
- Your scan suggests limited existing damage but at-risk brain that could still be saved (based on special perfusion or core mismatch measures)
- You can have the planned clot-removal procedure (thrombectomy) and your stroke severity score is at least 6
- You had no major prior disability before the stroke (pre-stroke mRS 0 to 2)
