Who can take part
- Be between 3 months and 9 years old
- Be scheduled for a myringotomy (ear procedure) requiring anesthesia
- Have an anesthesia health rating of ASA 1 or 2 (relatively healthy)
- Do not have heart problems that are not yet repaired, especially cyanotic congenital heart disease
- Not be a non-English language speaker if the study’s short consent form isn’t available
