Study of CDR132L for heart failure with reduced pumping ability and thickened heart muscle

Heart Failure

Treatments studied

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This trial tests a new medicine called CDR132L to see if it improves heart structure and function in people with heart failure who have a thickened heart muscle and reduced pumping ability. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the study drug or a placebo.

Who can take part

  • Be between 40 and 84 years old
  • Have had heart failure symptoms for at least 6 months, need a water pill (diuretic) at least once a week, and have specific symptoms (like shortness of breath or fatigue) at screening
  • Be stable on current heart failure medications for at least 45 days before starting the study
  • Have an ejection fraction (a measure of how well your heart pumps) below 50%, as confirmed by an ultrasound of your heart
  • Have a thickened heart muscle or an enlarged heart chamber, also confirmed by ultrasound
  • Have a body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 40, and weigh no more than 140 kilograms (about 308 pounds)
