Who can take part

  • You must be between 40 and 75 years old.
  • You must have a body mass index (BMI) from 18.5 to less than 40.
  • You must have heart failure symptoms (class II or III).
  • Your heart's pumping function must be over 40% (as measured by an echo).
  • You must be on stable heart failure medications for at least 4 weeks before starting, and stable diuretics (water pills) for at least 2 weeks.
  • You must not have been hospitalized for heart failure in the last 90 days.
