Electrical stimulation study for hand or limb movement recovery

Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 75 years old
  • Have paralysis or weakness from stroke, spinal cord injury, or another brain/nerve injury, with limited use of at least one hand or limb
  • Be at least 6 months after stroke, or 1 year after spinal cord injury
  • Be able to understand and follow study instructions in English and give informed consent
  • Be able to come to the study center up to 5 times per week for up to 1 year (at least 2 months)
  • Not have safety problems that block electrical stimulation (for example: implanted electronic devices, uncontrolled severe spasticity, or needing a ventilator)
