Who can take part

  • You have paralysis in both legs due to a spinal cord injury or another nerve/muscle condition.
  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • Your leg muscles still respond to electrical stimulation (a clinician will check this).
  • You are not pregnant.
  • You do not need a ventilator to breathe.
  • You do not have open pressure sores that would get worse from exercise.
  • You have not had broken bones without a clear cause.
  • You do not have heart or lung disease that limits exercise, and your diabetes or blood pressure is well controlled.
  • Your body size allows you to fit comfortably in the exercise equipment.
  • You have no other health or mental conditions that would make exercise unsafe.
