Who can take part

  • You’re 18 years or older
  • You had an ischemic or bleeding stroke, more than 3 months ago
  • You still have meaningful stroke deficits (Rankin score about 3 to 4)
  • You can understand the therapy plan (mini mental test 24 or higher) and don’t have major language problems
  • You’re medically able to travel to the Equiphoria Institute and participate safely in physical activity
  • You meet specific hip flexibility/safety needs for hippotherapy and have no recent horse therapy
