Who can take part

  • You have cancer that is not blood cancer, confirmed by pathology (biopsy/surgery results).
  • You are being referred for focused, staged radiation to the brain (hypofractionated stereotactic radiotherapy).
  • Your general functioning is fair to good: ECOG score 0–2, or a Karnofsky score of at least 70.
  • You have up to 3 brain metastases, and each one is no larger than 4 cm on the pre-treatment MRI.
  • Your MRI does not show tumors very close to the hippocampus (within 5 mm).
  • You have not had prior brain/head stereotactic radiation (including radiosurgery).
