Who can take part
- You are 18 to 75 years old
- You have had a sleep study (polysomnography) showing mild, moderate, or severe obstructive sleep apnea—or no OSA for the control group
- Your medical record shows either no prior atrial fibrillation, or prior atrial fibrillation (this study has separate groups)
- You are able to have MRI using a contrast dye if needed (no MRI-safe device issues, no gadolinium allergy, and kidney function is adequate)
- You are not pregnant and can provide informed consent
- You do not have certain heart or lung conditions that would make MRI or participation unsafe
