Atrial fibrillation ablation using two different energy types

This trial tests whether one ablation approach works better than another for paroxysmal (intermittent) atrial fibrillation by targeting the heart’s “triggers” and “substrate” (where the rhythm problem is). If you qualify, you’ll be randomly assigned to one of two ablation energy methods during a pulmonary vein isolation procedure.

Who can take part
- You’re 18 years or older.
- You have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, with at least one episode recorded in the past 12 months (ECG, Holter, a heart monitor, or a loop recorder).
- You can read, understand, and sign the informed consent form.
- You do NOT have persistent or permanent atrial fibrillation.
- You have not had prior left atrial ablation or left atrial heart surgery, and you have no prior AF/related ablation history.
