Who can take part

  • You can sign a consent form (or your legal representative can if needed).
  • Your doctors suspect ALS based on accepted diagnostic standards (possible, probable, or defined).
  • Your exam suggests involvement of the upper motor nerves (the brain/spinal cord side).
  • Your testing suggests involvement of the lower motor nerves (the peripheral/nerve side), using nerve/electrical tests.
  • You can safely have an MRI scan (no MRI safety conflicts).
