Who can take part

  • You must have a traumatic spinal cord injury in the neck (cervical).
  • Your injury must be recent—less than 3 months ago.
  • Your spinal cord injury must be “motor incomplete,” classified as AIS C or AIS D.
  • You must be able to do the study’s nerve-function tests and the MRI scan (no scan safety issues).
  • You must not have other nerve problems (like peripheral nerve disease) that could confuse the results.
  • You should not have ongoing significant mental illness, major learning difficulties, or substance abuse in the past 6 months.
  • Your vision and hearing need to be good enough for the tests and therapy.
