Who can take part

  • You are age 18 to 79.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is over 30.
  • Your blood pressure is higher than 130/80.
  • Your insulin resistance test is elevated (HOMA-IR over 2.5).
  • Your waist is above the cutoff (over 102 cm for men, over 88 cm for women).
  • You meet blood test limits: fasting glucose under 126 mg/dL and HbA1c under 6.5% (and triglycerides under 250 mg/dL).
  • You are willing to visit the research lab (Fairway CTSU) and get blood drawn, and you can give written consent.
