Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You either have obesity (BMI 30–45 with a large waist and insulin resistance) or are a healthy weight (BMI 18–25).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You do not have diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome, heart disease, or active cancer.
  • You do not smoke or use nicotine products.
  • You do not have metal implants or claustrophobia (since you need an MRI).
