Who can take part
- Your hsCRP blood level must be between 2 and 15 mg/L (a test result that shows inflammation).
- You must have at least one of these conditions: heart or blood vessel disease, obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or chronic kidney disease stage 3 or 4.
- You cannot have had a heart attack, stroke, or a heart failure hospitalization in the last 60 days.
- You cannot have uncontrolled high blood pressure (systolic ≥160 or diastolic ≥100) at screening.
- You cannot have type 1 diabetes, or type 2 diabetes with very high blood sugar (A1c ≥9%).
- You cannot have severe kidney disease (eGFR <15) or be on dialysis.
- You cannot have active infections like tuberculosis, hepatitis B or C, or have had a serious infection in the past 12 weeks.
- You cannot have a weakened immune system or take certain immune-suppressing drugs or high-dose steroids.
- You cannot have had stomach ulcers, diverticulitis, or major stomach surgery in the past.
- You cannot be taking colchicine or regular NSAID painkillers (like ibuprofen).
