Who can take part
- Have type 2 diabetes for less than 10 years
- Your latest HbA1c is at least 48 mmol/mol (with or without diabetes medicines)
- Your body mass index (BMI) is at least 27 (or at least 25 if you’re Asian)
- You use insulin only at low amounts (no more than 25 IU); or you are not on insulin
- Your HbA1c is below 12% (below 108 mmol/mol)
- No major recent heart event (heart attack in the last 6 months) and no severe or unstable heart failure or other serious illnesses (like active cancer or severe depression)
