Who can take part
- You are age 45–64 with at least one health risk factor, or you are 65 or older
- Your surgery is planned (elective) and is not a heart procedure
- Your operation is done on the same day you come in and check in
- Your surgeon expects the operation room time to be 60 minutes or longer
- A study team member can get your written consent (you agree in writing)
