Who can take part
- Have non-small cell lung cancer proven by biopsy or cell testing, and it is stage III and not removable by surgery
- Plan to receive radiation and chemotherapy (with or without immunotherapy) as part of standard treatment
- Be age 18 to 75 and able to live for at least 12 more weeks
- Have a heart function test result showing an abnormal cardiac output index (early sign of heart pumping issues)
- Be in good enough overall health: WHO performance score 0–1, normal-enough blood counts, and kidney/liver tests within limits
- Have stable heart conditions: no recent heart attack/unstable chest pain, no uncontrolled rhythm problems, and no serious uncontrolled heart failure
- Get oxygen levels up: resting oxygen saturation must be above 85%
