Who can take part
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You must have stage III non-small cell lung cancer.
- You must be scheduled to receive chemotherapy and radiation therapy together.
- Your tumor must be near your heart (within 2 cm) or the radiation dose to the heart must be high.
- You must not have had radiation therapy to the chest before.
- You must not have had stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) before.
- You must not have a severe allergy to iodine contrast dye.
- You must not have severe kidney problems (creatinine clearance below 30 mL/min).
- You must be able to hold your breath for at least 5 seconds.
- You must not be taking radioactive iodine therapy.
- You must not have certain heart rhythm problems without a pacemaker.
- You must not have active wheezing from asthma or COPD on the day of the test.
- Your blood pressure must be adequate (systolic at least 90 mm Hg) on the day of the test.
