Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 75 years old
  • Be an outpatient (not hospitalized)
  • Have a diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension that is either unexplained, due to lung disease, due to blood clots, or due to other causes
  • Be on a lung transplant waiting list or, for a second group, have recently started treatment for pulmonary hypertension
  • Be able to undergo an MRI scan (no metal in the eye, not claustrophobic, able to lie flat)
  • Not have certain conditions like severe heart disease, active cancer, or sickle cell anemia
