Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have persistent or long-lasting persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) that has lasted more than 7 days or more than 1 year.
- Your AF is related to rheumatic mitral valve disease, and you need mitral valve surgery for it.
- You must be willing to undergo surgical ablation for AF as part of the study.
- Your heart rhythm type is not paroxysmal AF (episodes that start and stop).
