This trial compares two ways of giving radiation to lymph node areas near the collarbone after surgery for invasive breast cancer. It aims to see which radiation approach works better and is safer for preventing cancer returning in these lymph nodes.

Who can take part

  • You have invasive breast cancer and were newly diagnosed
  • You can take part in the study for the next 3–5 years and can attend follow-up visits
  • You are able to do daily activities fairly well (ECOG 0–1)
  • You had breast-conserving surgery or mastectomy, and the underarm lymph nodes (levels I and II) were removed/cleared with at least 10 lymph nodes checked
  • You received at least 6 cycles of standard chemotherapy, and (if HER2-positive) you can receive HER2-target treatment
  • You do not have distant spread (metastasis), and your cancer is not an N3c type (supraclavicular node metastasis at diagnosis)
