Extra radiation to lymph nodes above collarbone for high-risk breast cancer

This trial tests giving a focused, higher dose of radiation to the lymph nodes above the collarbone after breast cancer treatment. It is for patients whose cancer did not fully disappear from those nodes after pre-surgery chemotherapy, to see if extra radiation can help prevent recurrence.

Who can take part

  • You are a woman aged 18 or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with breast cancer that has spread to lymph nodes above the collarbone (cN3c).
  • You received chemotherapy or other treatments before surgery, but there was still cancer in those lymph nodes after treatment.
  • You had breast cancer surgery aimed at cure, and the surgery margins (edges) were clear of cancer.
  • You are in generally good health (KPS score of 80 or higher) and expected to live at least 2 more years.
  • You are not pregnant and, if pre-menopausal, agree to use birth control.
