Who can take part

  • You have pulmonary fibrosis with a UIP pattern (a specific pattern seen on lung scans/biopsy).
  • You are currently intubated (a tube in the windpipe) and on a ventilator for acute respiratory failure.
  • Your breathing team plans to adjust PEEP (ventilator “positive end-expiratory pressure”) during this trial.
  • You do not have chest wall deformities (a change in the shape of your chest).
  • You do not have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
