Who can take part
- Be at least 18 years old and able to sign informed consent
- Have angina (chest pressure/pain/discomfort, sometimes into arm/neck/jaw) that has persisted despite medicine for at least 90 days
- Take a stable, maximum-tolerated anti-angina plan for at least 30 days, typically including at least 3 (preferably all 4) of these: long-acting nitrates, calcium channel blockers, beta blockers, and ranolazine
- Have limited options for heart revascularization (procedures like PCI or bypass) or be considered too high-risk/unable to safely have them
- Have proof of reduced blood flow to the heart that can be measured on a stress/heart-test study within the last 12 months
- Have heart pumping function (LVEF) of 30% or higher within the last 12 months and be able to complete an exercise tolerance test within 2–10 minutes
