Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 45 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with an acute stroke (either bleeding or blocked blood vessel)
  • You were admitted to the hospital within the last 12 hours
  • You have not taken antibiotics, probiotics, or prebiotics in the past 3 months
  • You do not have certain digestive or inflammatory gut conditions (like inflammatory bowel disease) or tumors
  • You are well enough to complete the planned stool sample collection
