  • You have been diagnosed with an acute ischemic stroke (a type of stroke caused by a blocked blood vessel).
  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • Your stroke started within the last 7 days.
  • You are awake and alert (not in a coma or severely drowsy).
  • You have not had a stroke in the past year.
