Who can take part

  • Your diabetes blood test (HbA1c) is between 8% and 12%
  • Your eye screening shows either no retinopathy or early microaneurysms
  • Your eye electrical test shows delayed responses called oscillatory potential delays
  • You have not had anti-VEGF or steroid eye treatments in the past 12 months
  • You do not have certain eye problems like severe cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, or retinitis pigmentosa
  • You are not pregnant, and you do not have certain brain or nerve conditions
