Laser treatment to slow vision damage in diabetic eye disease

Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • You have type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
  • Your eye exam shows diabetic eye disease that is not yet severe (non-proliferative stage).
  • Both eyes have some blocked blood vessels (non-perfusion areas) on a special scan.
  • You have not had any laser treatment for your eyes before, or injections into the eye in the last 3 months.
  • You do not have macular edema (swelling in the center of the retina).
